What about doing an Ex-Pats Page?

I lived in Dixon's Raws, 36 Hall St, as ma Da was a miner. I
lived above Littles the Bakers, which no one ever talks about, 200a
Glasgow Road... a very famous Baker!!!!!!!! Wullie Pates?? Brown
School of Dancing, The "Dookit" and the Broadway???? All
in the same block.
I
remenber the bread strike?? 1968 Oh My God?? The shop was above
my bedroom!!!!! They were lining up from 4.00 a.m. in the morning.
I had to go to Phillips in Wellhall Road!!!!! So there is lots to
catch up on??

Hi,
My name is Jean Newell, maiden name is Hanlon, I lived in Blantyre
in the Buggy Building till I was 8, moved to Fernslea Ave in 1954,
went to the Joes school, left Scotland in 1965 came to Canada, been
here since.
I
remember the Dookit and the Broadway picture houses, I used to go
dancing at the Troc and once in a while we went to barraland, loved
those days. Have many many good memories and sad ones of growing
up in Blantyre.
My family is all gone now from home, my Mam and
Da are both dead and my brothers and sisters are scattered all over
the place, but Blantyre Will always be my home sweet home. have
a great day, Jean

I
was born and raised in blantyre too, lived at 208 glasgow Rd foot
of Logan St. John Murrey lived local worthy lived in same building.
We moved to Morris Cres. My father had barber shop next to Cosy
Corner pub, knew Wullie Pate; Littles bakery knew the Hoggs before
Pate, played in dance bands for many years called Melody Sextet with
cousin Pat Lindsay from Burnbank. Best
