Edward Liddel
Sad Colliery Accident
While Edward Liddell (13) residing at Auchinraith Rows, Blantyre, was on Tuesday engaged picking at the travelling tables connected with the separator at Auchinraith Collieries, his left foot became entangled amongst the pulleys and before assistance could be procured was completely wrenched off.
The poor lad was at once removed to the Royal Infirmary in the ambulance waggon. The accident is a peculiarly sad one, as the boy only started work for the first time on Tuesday morning and was only a few hours at work when the accident happened.
