I know that you will recognise the spot immediately. Just upstream of Millheugh Bridge there was, at least in 1957, a reasonably flat area of rock which was great for picnics, bonfires, and even a wee paddle. The rockpools were great for sailing small boats. The picture shows, from right to left, brother Robert, Dad, George Senior, sister Shirley, and me with a boat which made its way to the Clyde. Mum took the photograph on a Coronet bellows camera which produced 8 photographs on a spool of Kodak 120 film. We still have the camera, but the digital age rendered it almost obsokete. How things have changed.
